Accommodation for Walkers at Old Sea Captains House/ Tregonwell

Lynmouth is the pretty harbour that nestles beneath the cliffs with its quaint fishing cottages. Connecting the towns is the famous Lynton and Lynmouth furnicular Cliff Railway built by the Victorians and replacing the hardworking pack horses who had to pull goods brought into harbour by ship, up the steep hill to Lynton. Today the Railway is a popular tourist attraction. Lynmouth offers a unique holiday experience for all, situated on the North Coast of Devon within the Exmoor National Park, acclaimed for its breath taking natural beauty and unspoilt landscape. This is a perfect place to access the inner moor, visit historic houses, inspiring gardens, catch glimpses of the majestic red deer and the wild Exmoor ponies. Whether you are walking the South West Coast Path, walking or cycling coast to coast via the moors, or just plan to stay in Lynmouth and explore the local area, The Old Sea Captains is ideal place to stay.

Each of the lavishly decorated standard and en suite rooms are centrally heated, with tea and coffee making facilities. Children are very welcome with well behaved adults.

Take some time to sit in the beautiful tea garden, a real sun trap in which to enjoy a famous Devonshire Cream Tea whilst relaxing with sounds of the Lyn River babbling in the background and marvelling at the magnificent scenery and pretty flowers. Treat yourself to the mouthwatering freshly baked scones with jam and lashings of farmhouse clotted cream ~ mmm, wickedly delicious.

After a famous Captains House full English breakfast a packed lunch can be supplied to take with you whilst you go exploring the quiet lanes with a rich tapestry of country life unfolding before you.

Limited car parking is available, which is free for visitors staying at the Captains House or Tregonwell, whilst there is also public parking along with a bus stop, just a short stroll over the river.
