This beautiful 17th Century building dating back some 400 years is steeped in history. It is mentioned in The Domesday Book and was converted into a Hotel in 1976. Slightly inland, it is set in 44 acres of landscaped gardens in the middle of the beautiful North Devon countryside, but is within easy reach of Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, their beaches and coves and also the South West Coast Path and Exmoor. The Hotel boasts comfortable en suite rooms, The Tyme Restaurant, a Lounge Bar, an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, gym and games room. Guests will be served a full English breakfast in the Tyme Restaurant made with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. There are other choices for those who prefer a lighter option. The Hotel has 13 rooms including family rooms and suites, all of which are ensuite and most have stunning views of the North Devon Countryside. All are equipped with shower and/or bath, TV/DVD player, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel also has six self-catering cottages available - usually for a week but occasionally for shortbreaks, especially out of season. Guests have full use of the Hotels leisure facilities. Fine cuisine, three course evening meals are available in the Tyme Restuarant at special concessionary rates for staying guests, and a selection of local beers and wines are available in the Lounge bar.The Hotel also offers a pick-up/drop off service for walkers to and from the Coast Path, Woolacombe area. Packed lunches are available on request.
Woolacombe has great pubs, restaurants and shops and a beautiful beach which has been voted as one of Britain's best. Mortehoe, a cliff top village, less than a mile from Woolacombe is also listed in the Domesday Book and has a rare, barrel roofed, thirteenth Century Church.

How to get to Trimstone Manor Country House Hotel
From Barnstaple drive north on the A361 passing through the villages of Braunton and Knowle. Approximately 3 miles after Knowle, beyond a picnic area layby, turn left into Trimstone Lane. The Hotel is just 300 yards along Trimstone Lane on the left overlooking the grounds where you will find immediate peace and deep Devon countryside. The main entrance to the Hotel and car park is then clearly signposted on the left.
Alternatively, from Ilfracombe, drive one mile to Mullacott Cross and take the Braunton turning (the A361). After half a mile, turn right into Trimstone Lane.
