Walking Holidays in Exmoor National Park

Exmoor National Park straddles the border of North Devon and West Somerset. It combines both moorland and stunning coastal stretches. The wilderness of Exmoor, with its traditional ponies and red deer, is one of the last remaining true wildernesses of southern England.

The Moor land stretches for miles and it is interspersed with centuries old woodlands, rolling fields and deep valleys with streams that gush on their way through ‘Doone’ country and down to the spectacular coastline.

For those of you wanting a walking holiday away from the busier tourist trail, then Exmoor is the place for you!

Longer Walking Holidays on Exmoor

Several long distance trails cross Exmoor to Lynmouth. They include the 102 mile Two Moors Way which starts on the southern side of Dartmoor and finishes at Lynmouth. The Macmillan Way West starts in Castle Cary, covering 102 miles to it's conclusion at Barnstaple. There is also the Samaritans Way which starts in Bristol and covers 100 miles to Lynton and then the slightly shorter 36 mile Coleridge way starting on the north side of the Quantock hills, crossing Exmoor and the Brendon hills to finish in Porlock, an ideal walk for a short break or weekend walk.

If you want a Longer Walking Holiday then why not combine part of the Two Moors Way with a stretch of the South West Coast Path? See our web pages on the Two Moors Way, Dartmoor and South West Coast Path for further information.

Our luggage transfer service is easy to book by completing the Baggage Transfers Enquiry form.  Alternatively e mail us on coast@luggagetransfers.co.uk.

Generally you will need to book your accommodation first, so go to our  Moors Short Break Accommodation database to find one and two night friendly accommodation for walkers across Exmoor and Dartmoor.
